I have tried this but it says “no recoveries were found for this device” its a Gt i9505 UK model. It is rooted via the CF-Auto Root method

Same experience here. I have the GT-9505 HK model which is also rooted using Motochopper. I get the same message “no recoveries were found for this device”. Guess I need to use Odin to install…

Well with the Galaxy S4 i337 that route doesn’t work because it just throws me in a loop. No recovery found with GooManager and now I can’t download TWRP manually because this links me to GooManager. Caught in limbo.

I successfully rooted my at&t Galaxy S4 MK2 with saferoot method.
I tried install twrp with goo manager and it was successfully installed but phone does not enter recovery and it does not run either. It is stuck “downloading do not turn off target”
        Any help please?

I got an AT&T Galaxy S4 MK2 too. Sadly, you can’t use TWRP on this device. There’s another option, however. It’s called Safestrap. People say you can use Safestrap to install TouchWiz based ROMs only.
And, to exit the “do not turn off target,” you just hold volume down + power + home button, then when it prompts you to enter recovery mode or exit, you exit by pressing volume down.

First, why are you trying to remove TWRP recovery right after you installed it?

To uninstall, you would need to basically re-install stock recovery or another recovery.

hey. so i tired this method and using odin as well as trying to go through rom manager. for some reason none of these methods work on my h720 sprint phone… someone help me please. i tried doing a factory reset. idk what to do. i need to flash roms….

So, i can get cwm or twrp working only one time after flashing one of them via odin (using pull the battery method). If i put a custom rom in my internal storage and flash it then, will it work? I think that this issue has something to do with my firmware (XXUAME2) writing over any custom recovery after reboot. I might be wrong..

Ok, have a strange prob. I have the AT&T i337 and rooted using motochopper and now I’m getting super user has stopped, sometimes with a message about fixing root permissions, etc… Any thoughts on how to fix? Should I install a different SU or something?

I have the SGH-i337 and running wicked rom v.4 and the Kt kernal, when i get to step three instead of it being jflteatt, I get jfltetmo. Some help with why or what I should do would be awesome XD

It’s probably because you are running Wicked ROM, which is a tmo rom, you can easily change it back using Build Prop Editor app available on Play Store.

I don’t have a guide but just download and install Build Prop Editor, then find and change jfltetmo to jflteatt then reboot that’s it!

I followed this method to install TWRP. When I rebooted the device as instructed, it got stuck on a splashscreen that has and Android logo and says “Downloading…Do not turn off target!!” :’(

The upper left in red says “Could not do normal boot. ODIN MODE”

I tried a battery pull, vol dwn + power, vol up + power and vol down + up + power.

How do I get back to normal boot or into TWRP recovery? I have a ROM I’d like to install, and as of now…it won’t get past that splash screen.

    What do I do?

    Thanks!

Can some one put a “DO NOT INSTALL CUSTOM RECOVERIES ON ME7 FIRMWARE” label at the top of this page? I got screwed too! I know I should have read further before installing it but come on! I’ve been using this and the i717 site for quite a while and I’ve never run into this type of problem before.

So, am I going to be stuck on 4.2.2 forever if this doesn’t get fixed? I just got this phone yesterday and rooted it then tried to install TWRP because there was no warning in the write up about the ME7 firmware. This sucks! Does any one know of a way with ROOT access to go in and remove TWRP so we can at least get ODIN back?

So i install twrp via goo manager and when i reboot my phone was stuck on downloading odin mode and took me forever to get out of that mode. what did i do wrong is it because i had tried to install via Rom Manager prior. Please help now i am afraid of rebooting phone at the risk of it getting suck on downloading again.

Install worked with no problems. The issue I have is that when I ask it to Reboot recovery, I go directly into download mode. Any help with this? I can send a picture of it if you need me to.

Hello, I am following this thread if anyone still watches. I have an at&t samsung galaxy S4 sgh-i337 build nc1. I have run twrp and ended with a “Downloading…Do not turn off target!!” message on the display and would not stop. I ended that with Volume down, Power, and Home keys held down until I could reboot. Now I get the blue snake circling and I have to hold the Powre button to get it to stop doing that and boot.

Having same issue as other users. I have the at&t galaxy s4 1337 nc1 and cannot get to recovery mode after installing SafeStrap. Just goes to odin mode and says “Could not do normal boot”. Any help would be appreciated. Also I’m trying to unroot and install stock firmware and recovery so that I can install the newest ota update. Do I need to downgrade first or just flash a stock recovery and keep the nc1 firmware and flash it?
