For this week’s Galaxy S4 GT-i9500 ROM of the week, check out latest version of CRASH ROM V8.2. Since last time we took a look at it, CRASH ROM has added more features, all the while making some great performance improvements and better battery life over its previous versions.
CRASH ROM V8.2 now comes bundled with lots of ROM features like Fast Dormancy (can save battery life when turned on), CPU Spy, GPS Fix, AdFree, Battery Stats, and a ton of Xposed Framework modules including Xposed App Settings, Nottach Xposed, Wanam Xposed, MultiWindow App Manager, and much more.
For UI/system customization, now you can use either Nottach Xposed or Wanam Xposed to enable your favorite shortcuts, change battery icons, and more.
For audio, CRASH ROM now ships with Viper4Android (just choose Cortex A8 with Neon), probably Android’s most advanced audio app so you can tweak the sound exactly how you want it.
Overall, CRASH ROM certainly is one of the best TouchWiz-based custom ROMs you can run on your GT-i9500 so definitely give it a test drive this week(end) if you have not tried it yet.

What is a Custom ROM?
A custom ROM is a custom, modified operating system that you can install on your Android device. Basically it's like installing Windows OS on a Macbook. By installing a custom ROM, you can bypass stock factory settings like locked hotspot tether, install new Android versions early, or even convert your phone into another OS.
With a custom ROM, you can really maximize the capabilities of your smartphone by adding custom features that have been developed by open source developers.
How to Install Custom ROMs
First, you will need to root your device, if it is not rooted yet, follow our root tutorial and root your phone.
Once rooted, you should have TWRP installed on your phone. Installation of a custom ROM is easy if you learn the basic of it. If you don't know how to install custom ROMs using TWRP recovery, see our tutorial on How to Install Custom ROM using TWRP!
