I know many of you have been e-mailing me to death asking about MF9 update on the Sprint Galaxy S4 SPH-L720. Well, I don’t recommend any OTA updates once you root but wait for custom ROMs such as this TriForce ROM, which comes with the update and also without the bloatware by the same developer UnknownForce who made the Force ROM.
With latest MF9 update you will get new features like App2SD working out of the box and HDR recording. TriForce ROM also comes with some cool features like call-recording, native hotspot working, and even Viper4Android sound mod so you can tweak your speakers/headphones with ease. And my very favorite feature is the awesome transition animations.
You will also have the option to kill apps by doing a long-press on the Menu button, very handy to have on those faulty apps that freeze out of nowhere.
Overall, TriForce ROM is a very good way of getting the latest MF9 Sprint firmware update without losing root while gaining vital features your phone needs. So, definitely give this ROM a try this week(end) and do let me know what you think!

What is a Custom ROM?
A custom ROM is a custom, modified operating system that you can install on your Android device. Basically it's like installing Windows OS on a Macbook. By installing a custom ROM, you can bypass stock factory settings like locked hotspot tether, install new Android versions early, or even convert your phone into another OS.
With a custom ROM, you can really maximize the capabilities of your smartphone by adding custom features that have been developed by open source developers.
How to Install Custom ROMs
First, you will need to root your device, if it is not rooted yet, follow our root tutorial and root your phone.
Once rooted, you should have TWRP installed on your phone. Installation of a custom ROM is easy if you learn the basic of it. If you don't know how to install custom ROMs using TWRP recovery, see our tutorial on How to Install Custom ROM using TWRP!
