Wow, Galaxy S4 is one of the first Samsung smartphones to receive red carpet treatment from the root community. If you have a Galaxy S4, you can now install a fully-working Android 7.0 Nougat custom ROM through JDCTeam’s latest custom build.
Now, this is actually a pretty amazing build as everything except video recording works out of the box, you will be able to experience Android 7.0 Nougat before everyone else without having to buy a brand, new smartphone like LG V20.
The JDCTeam’s latest Android 7.0 Nougat ROM gives you all of the stock Android 7.0 features and yes, you can get new cats easily by activating the Nougat cat feeding feature by tapping on Android 7.0 a bunch of times. Once activated, simply add some food to the empty dish and you will start collecting many cats!
For performance, I was able to score 33K on Antutu with Android 7.0 Nougat, which is slightly faster than Android 6.0 Marshmallow ROMs we have seen. Under the hood, you will find various different battery optimizations which will save you a ton more battery life over running Lollipop or Marshmallow.
The ROM also comes with goodies like Dolby Atmos, SuperSU for root, Viper4Android for tweaking sound, and even STweaks app to tweak your CPU voltages. Yes, this IS better than stock Android 7.0 on my Nexus 6P since it has more customizations.
What is a Custom ROM?
A custom ROM is a custom, modified operating system that you can install on your Android device. Basically it's like installing Windows OS on a Macbook. By installing a custom ROM, you can bypass stock factory settings like locked hotspot tether, install new Android versions early, or even convert your phone into another OS.
With a custom ROM, you can really maximize the capabilities of your smartphone by adding custom features that have been developed by open source developers.
