For this week’s ROM of the week for AT&T, T-Mobile, Canadian, and GT-i9505, check out BobCat ROM.

Based on GT-i9505 firmware, BobCat ROM brings you a custom theme with lots of customization.

UPDATE: BobCat ROM version 5.1 is OUT, CLICK HERE to see it instead of this!!!

First, BobCat ROM gives you native hotspot tethering (since all GT-i9505 ROMs support this out of the box) and I had not trouble using it on T-Mobile without any tinkering (and also 4G LTE working fine).  Also you will be able to easily move your favorite apps to SD card since this ROM comes with firmware that supports the latest App2SD by Samsung.

Second, you will find a load of add-ons/MODs through its UpdateMe ROM app found in Settings allowing you to download the removed bloatware, install 3MINIT framework (for additional UI mods), change dropdown graphics (default is blue Android Andy guy), install new apps, and lots more.

Third, BobCat ROM brings you UI customization through Nottach app, which allows you to customize everything from status bar, battery icons, lockscreen, and even enable Volume-up flashlight when screen is off.  (You can also get this app separately for most S4 custom ROMs btw, see here.)

Overall, this ROM is packed with lots of features, apps, and only your imagination is the limit to how much customization you can do to your S4.  If you are looking for such a custom ROM, definitely check out BobCat ROM this week(end) and do let me know what you think!

For AT&T, make sure to install loki_doki.zip after installing ROM!

For T-Mobile, you will lose Wifi-calling as this is a ROM based on GT-i9505!

If you have trouble installing, try formatting /system and /data and re-install ROM.

Link is working fine for me although the rom seems a bit buggy with the play store, tells me the app is not installed sometimes and then “google play store has stopped working” other times. It does open the play store and let me install my apps so this is a tad confusing, everything else is working fine so far. On first boot it stays on the Samsung screen for quite awhile so don’t freak out just give it time.

    Awesome ROM.

Just installed it without even having to wipe anything.

Just got my apps, settings, toggles and all modified, beautifully without having the work of installing all over again.

Thanks Max, you rock my friend. The developer rocks too. lol

Will, I flashed BobCat. But Xposed, Nottach, and the other features of the ROM do not work for my device. It says these are made for AT&T Galaxy S4, and not guaranteed to work on other device. Is your device is T-Mobile or AT&T?. Thanks

Since I flashed the Goldeneye3.0 ROM from XDA’s iB4STiD earlier this month, since it’s so clean, smooth and fast, the only ROM I’ve been able to consider is his Goldeneye4.0. And it’s damn near perfect, since with a couple tweeks I’m now getting 15.4M TMo download speed on Net10/TMo on my i337. Added back selective Sammy bloatware, transparent weather and clock via his addons as well. You should check it out. Usual disclaimers, JMO, YMMV.

Hey, I LOVE this ROM, great job Max! I flashed the ROM, then loki-doki and it booted up just fine for the first time. When I tried just a plain old reboot my phone would stay on the first boot screen with Samsung on it. Any help would be great! Thanks!!!!!

I updated to the 4.1 version of this rom and I can’t seem to sync my contacts at all, I also had to choose ktweaker to get wifi working at all. Does anyone know a way around this nonsense with the contacts?

This has been happening to me non stop as well. I even had to go get a new sim from AT&T just to make sure it wasn’t faulty, and it wasn’t. It still keeps happening :/

I installed Bobcat 4.1 on my S4 GT-i9505. Why does my phone keep updating apps everytime I reboot even if I did not update the apps?

This happen to me as well (lost WiFi). In addition, my micro SD Card will not mount to my S4 any more. Any suggestions for either, any one, let me (us) know.

    I have an AT&T Galaxy S4 (sgh-i337), and I’ve read this :

Step 1. Download appropriate ROM file for your Galaxy S4.

IMPORTANT: MAKE SURE YOU’VE DOWNLOADED A COMPATIBLE ROM FOR YOUR GALAXY S4 OTHERWISE YOU CAN BRICK YOUR PHONE!!! E.g. If you install GT-i9505 ROM on AT&T Galaxy S4 SGH-i337, you will BRICK YOUR PHONE! I’ve had many people who DON’T FOLLOW DIRECTIONS who’ve bricked their $700 phone, please do not end up being one of these people. Double-check the ROM and triple-check that the ROM you downloaded is COMPATIBLE with your Galaxy S4!!!

This says it’s for [AT&T/T-Mobile/Canadian/GT-i9505] S4′s. I obviously don’t want a bricked phone, so I was wondering if this actually is a safe ROM to flash on my sgh-i337. Thank you for any input.
