Need call recording? Don’t like TouchWiz and bloatware? Want some UI customization? Need support for all languages?
If you’ve answered yes to all of these questions, check out the FoxHound ROM for Galaxy S4!
Based on GT-i9505 base, the FoxHound ROM can be installed on GT-i9505, T-Mobile, AT&T, and Canadian Galaxy S4 smartphones. (For T-Mobile, you will lose wifi-calling!)
For those of you who’ve followed custom ROMs previously on the Galaxy S2 GT-i9100 Galaxy S3 GT-i9300, you will remember FoxHound ROM was one of the fastest/best ROMs ever.
Well, the developer of FoxHound ROM XDA user Raffaele88 has picked up a GT-i9505 to continue his awesomeness into custom ROMing.
His latest creation of the FoxHound ROM for Galaxy S4 comes with call recording, UI customizations through Nottach Xposed app, Xposed App Settings (For running apps in Phone/Tablet mode), inverted Play Store with multi DPI support, Init.d support, and Nova launcher in replacement of TouchWiz launcher.
Of course, you will also benefit from complete de-bloating of most Samsung apps while you will be able to keep core functions such as multi-window, Smart Scroll, etc…etc…
FoxHound ROM has been around for ages and if you own a GS4 that can install this ROM, you are in luck!
What is a Custom ROM?
A custom ROM is a custom, modified operating system that you can install on your Android device. Basically it's like installing Windows OS on a Macbook. By installing a custom ROM, you can bypass stock factory settings like locked hotspot tether, install new Android versions early, or even convert your phone into another OS.
With a custom ROM, you can really maximize the capabilities of your smartphone by adding custom features that have been developed by open source developers.
How to Install Custom ROMs
First, you will need to root your device, if it is not rooted yet, follow our root tutorial and root your phone.
Once rooted, you should have TWRP installed on your phone. Installation of a custom ROM is easy if you learn the basic of it. If you don't know how to install custom ROMs using TWRP recovery, see our tutorial on How to Install Custom ROM using TWRP!
