For those of you who need App2SD and call recording (today not tomorrow), there is a ROM called WanamLite you can flash now that does just that for GT-i9505, AT&T SGH-i337, T-Mobile SGH-M919, and Canadian SGH-i337M series.
We featured WanamLite for GT-i9500 couple weeks back and now the developer Wanam has made a similar version for the GT-i9505.
The latest WanamLite for GT-i9505 is built on the latest German international Samsung firmware that supports App2SD. This is great news since you can install GT-i9505 ROMs on AT&T, T-Mobile, and Canadian variants, bringing you App2SD a bit earlier.
WanamLite ROM is also a very good ROM (apart from the firmware built on), offering extra features like call recording, support for all languages, automatic SMS encoding with support for Arabic and other UTF-8 languages, and some more. It’s a very, good ROM with stock stability and more features.
If you can’t wait for carriers to update their firmwares to support the latest Samsung features like App2SD, you can simply install this one and enjoy it today.
So, if this is something you need right now, it’s here, flash it this weekend and do let me know what you think!
What is a Custom ROM?
A custom ROM is a custom, modified operating system that you can install on your Android device. Basically it's like installing Windows OS on a Macbook. By installing a custom ROM, you can bypass stock factory settings like locked hotspot tether, install new Android versions early, or even convert your phone into another OS.
With a custom ROM, you can really maximize the capabilities of your smartphone by adding custom features that have been developed by open source developers.
How to Install Custom ROMs
First, you will need to root your device, if it is not rooted yet, follow our root tutorial and root your phone.
Once rooted, you should have TWRP installed on your phone. Installation of a custom ROM is easy if you learn the basic of it. If you don't know how to install custom ROMs using TWRP recovery, see our tutorial on How to Install Custom ROM using TWRP!
