For those of you who need App2SD and call recording (today not tomorrow), there is a ROM called WanamLite you can flash now that does just that for GT-i9505, AT&T SGH-i337, T-Mobile SGH-M919, and Canadian SGH-i337M series.

We featured WanamLite for GT-i9500 couple weeks back and now the developer Wanam has made a similar version for the GT-i9505.

The latest WanamLite for GT-i9505 is built on the latest German international Samsung firmware that supports App2SD. This is great news since you can install GT-i9505 ROMs on AT&T, T-Mobile, and Canadian variants, bringing you App2SD a bit earlier.

WanamLite ROM is also a very good ROM (apart from the firmware built on), offering extra features like call recording, support for all languages, automatic SMS encoding with support for Arabic and other UTF-8 languages, and some more. It’s a very, good ROM with stock stability and more features.

If you can’t wait for carriers to update their firmwares to support the latest Samsung features like App2SD, you can simply install this one and enjoy it today.

So, if this is something you need right now, it’s here, flash it this weekend and do let me know what you think!

What is a Custom ROM?

A custom ROM is a custom, modified operating system that you can install on your Android device. Basically it's like installing Windows OS on a Macbook. By installing a custom ROM, you can bypass stock factory settings like locked hotspot tether, install new Android versions early, or even convert your phone into another OS.

With a custom ROM, you can really maximize the capabilities of your smartphone by adding custom features that have been developed by open source developers.

How to Install Custom ROMs

First, you will need to root your device, if it is not rooted yet, follow our root tutorial and root your phone.

Once rooted, you should have TWRP installed on your phone. Installation of a custom ROM is easy if you learn the basic of it. If you don't know how to install custom ROMs using TWRP recovery, see our tutorial on How to Install Custom ROM using TWRP!

I have followed everything and set mobile network to lte/wcdma/gsm and the apn to the right way but it still shows only 4g. I asked on another forum about this problem and because this rom is based in taiwan and they don’t have lte so it only shows 4g but in actuality when you run a speed test its lte speed. I don’t know if that is true on not

  2. Brian says:

David, yes this is true, I read about this entire thing this morning……. 4g using the WanamLite ROM is exactly as you said, it is the 4g lte…

Installed this yesterday and it’s working very well with one exception: I can’t run apps that I put on the SD card. Looks like after a reboot, the apps have been removed. I have “ghost icons” for the apps in the app drawer, with a little SD symbol, but get “application not installed” when trying to run. Go to application manager and try to move back to device memory and get “unable to move app. app doesn’t exist”

    • bpdunsta says:

I didn’t flash any ROMs after moving the apps, but I did take a new TWRP backup this morning. I didn’t notice the ghost icons earlier, but that doesn’t mean they weren’t there….so this may or may not have happened after taking the backup.

To resolve, I just re-downloaded the apps from the play store, found them in application manager, moved them back to SD, then back to device, then removed the newly created duplicate shortcuts from the homescreen, and all is well. I may move a couple back to SD and play around to determine what happened.

Is there a fix for camera and smart scroll on this custom room?

    • bpdunsta says:

@DrAGON — Excuse my ignorance, what about the camera is broken?

      • bpdunsta says:

Nevermind. I see now. Also dislike that the delete button is now missing when viewing a single photo in Gallery. Also just realized shortcuts on lock screen option is missing.

    Hello everyone enjoying the ROM,

It’s a very stable rom. I see a good battery life in it. Was wondering if we will get any updates for it. The system update feature always says_ up to date…???

i had serious heat issues even when its on standby

  13. spyd3r says:

Does anybody know how the change the ballons on the lockscreen? The option is gone to change the lockscreen, only the homescreen is available. Also if you’re a dropbox user you will get the 50gb of free space for 2years. This was a promotion with T-Mobile and Samsung and since this is a T-mobile bases ROM it works 🙂
