Android 4.4.2 stock firmware has been pushed out to non-rooted users in the last few weeks and for those of you who have not upgraded via OTA (over-the-air), you might actually be in a better position than those who did. First, the Android 4.4.2 stock firmware update brings you an updated 4.4.2 bootloader, which may not allow you to downgrade to Jelly Bean custom ROMs. That being said, you can still enjoy the best and latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat official firmware thanks to XDA user Fenny, who has crafted a CWM-flashable version you can use along with root.
For those of you who need App2SD and call recording (today not tomorrow), there is a ROM called WanamLite you can flash now that does just that for GT-i9505, AT&T SGH-i337, T-Mobile SGH-M919, and Canadian SGH-i337M series. For those of you who want to unlock SIM on your AT&T or T-Mobile Galaxy S4, there’s an easy way to unlock SIM as outlined by XDA user kaleido. This should work on AT&T Galaxy S4 SGH-i337, T-Mobile Galaxy S4 SGH-M919, and also all Canadian SGH-i337M variants. For this week’s ROM of the week for the T-Mobile Galaxy S4 SGH-M919, check out Death Star ROm. Based on latest MDL TouchWiz Android 4.2.2 base, Death Star ROM features a blue theme, center clock, all apps enabled for multi-window, and 5×6 TouchWiz Launcher with scrolling wallpaper that’s been optimized for no lag. I do like this ROM as I really dig the 5×6 launcher which is enabled for both your homescreen and app drawer. CWM Recovery “stable” version is NOW AVAILABLE for Sprint SPH-L720 and T-Mobile SGH-M919 Galaxy S4 users. I just verified with my Sprint and T-Mobile Galaxy S4, works 100% fine! What does this mean?
