I know many of you have been asking me you want to update your phone to the latest stock firmware. Well, you can do that but on certain models like AT&T Galaxy S4, once you update your firmware to latest MF3, you can re-root it but you will lose the ability to flash CWM/TWRP recovery. Also, using ODIN and stock firmware usually requires using a Windows computer and can be a long process sitting by your computer. If you are not returning your phone back to the store for warranty purposes and you simply want to re-install stock ROM, you can simply re-install CWM/TWRP flash
For those of you who need App2SD and call recording (today not tomorrow), there is a ROM called WanamLite you can flash now that does just that for GT-i9505, AT&T SGH-i337, T-Mobile SGH-M919, and Canadian SGH-i337M series. We featured WanamLite for GT-i9500 couple weeks back and now the developer Wanam has made a similar version for the GT-i9505. The latest WanamLite for GT-i9505 is built on the Click Here to Read Full Article
Need call recording? Don’t like TouchWiz and bloatware? Want some UI customization? Need support for all languages? If you’ve answered yes to all of these questions, check out the FoxHound ROM for Galaxy S4! Based on GT-i9505 base, the FoxHound ROM can be installed on GT-i9505, T-Mobile, AT&T, and Canadian Galaxy S4 smartphones. (For T-Mobile, you will lose wifi-calling!)
If you are looking for a good TouchWiz Android 4.2.2 ROM with absence of Samsung bloatware and faster performance/longer battery life, definitely check out Wicked ROM for T-Mobile Galaxy S4 SGH-M919. You can also install this ROM on GT-i9505, AT&T Galaxy S4 SGH-i337, or Canadian Galaxy S4 SGH-i337M. Some notable features on the Wicked ROM feature transparent multi-window flashbar (with all app support if you flash the all apps zip), custom boot animations, battery/network/performance/MMS tweaks, transparent weather widget, ad blocking, wifi-calling and some more.
For those of you who want to unlock SIM on your AT&T or T-Mobile Galaxy S4, there’s an easy way to unlock SIM as outlined by XDA user kaleido. This should work on AT&T Galaxy S4 SGH-i337, T-Mobile Galaxy S4 SGH-M919, and also all Canadian SGH-i337M variants. Remember, unlocking SIM is illegal in the U.S. as of this year, and that is why I cannot make a video tutorial but this method does work well, you can find full step-by-step tutorial at XDA here. However, it is not illeg
In theory, since international LTE model GT-i9505 and T-Mobile Galaxy S4 SGH-M919 share the exact same hardware as AT&T Galaxy S4 SGH-i337, it should be possible to install GT-i9505/T-Mobile custom ROMs on your AT&T Galaxy S4. Well, I tried it today and it works just fine. You will need to install a custom kernel such as KTweaker kernel after installing ROM though to bypass the locked bootloader on your AT&T Galaxy S4. For Canadian SGH-i337M users, you don’t need to install a custom kernel, just install any GT-i9505/T-Mobile custom ROMs and they shoul
For those of you having problems with the latest UVUAMDL firmware, this is because T-Mobile has added a SetUID restriction on the kernel. This can easily be solved by flashing a stock kernel with the restriction removed. MAKE SURE YOU ARE ON UVUAMDL build OTHERWISE THIS KERNEL WILL BREAK THINGS IN YOUR PHONE! After using ODIN to flash CWM or TWRP, boot into CWM or TWRP recovery and flash this s
TWRP Recovery is now available for GT-i9505, T-Mobile, Sprint, US Cellular, and Canadian (Rogers, Telus, Bell)! Check out CWM/TWRP Recovery page! Also I know some of you were having trouble rooting the GT-i9505 using motochopper method. Now with TWRP recovery available, you can root your Galaxy S4 using TWRP Method. CWM/TWRP root method is recommended over motochopper as you will have to ability to install, backup,
For those of you with T-Mobile Galaxy S4 SGH-M919 or any Canadian Galaxy S4 models (Rogers, Telus, Bell), you are in luck as founder of CyanogenMod Steve Kondik has just made them available. Now, these are totally “beta” versions so there may be some minor bugs and not a fully polished custom ROM like stable releases. However, I did get to play around a bit and most of major features seem to be working well such as data, wifi, bluetooth, and camera.
CWM Recovery “stable” version is NOW AVAILABLE for Sprint SPH-L720 and T-Mobile SGH-M919 Galaxy S4 users. I just verified with my Sprint and T-Mobile Galaxy S4, works 100% fine! What does this mean? For those of you who want to install custom ROMs and make backup ROM, you can now use CWM recovery. And also you can now root your Sprint or T-Mobile Galax
