It’s been about 2 months since last time we went over HyperDrive ROM. Well, let me add that HyperDrive ROM has evolved during that time to a “freak of nature” offering you every bit of latest features from more than you can ever expect.
For this week’s ROM of the week, check out Infamous S4 ROM for Galaxy S4.
Based on latest T-Mobile Android 4.2.2 firmware, Infamous S4 ROM comes with WiFi-Calling (for T-Mobile users) and can be installed on AT&T, T-Mobile, GT-i9505, and Canadian Galaxy S4s.
Now since this is a T-Mobile firmware-based ROM, there’s no App2SD nor HDR recording available as latest T-Mobile does not have that update yet. (If you need App2SD, you can try any of the latest GT-i9505 ROMs instead like BobCat ROM.)
For this week’s GT-i9500 Galaxy S4 ROM of the week, check out Neat ROM. Based on Android 4.2.2 TouchWiz firmware, Neat ROM brings you a ton of features through great MODs like X-Blast Settings, Wanam Xposed Settings, and Xposed App Settings(for running your apps in tablet/custom DPI mode).
For those of you who have been waiting for a solid, stable Google Play Edition ROM for your Sprint Galaxy S4 SPH-L720, check out the latest stable build by XDA user B-dub25.
Coupled with his ROM and Agat kernel, you will be able to get a fully-working Google Play Edition ROM on your Sprint S4 with everything working out of the box.
For this week’s ROM of the week on the Verizon Galaxy S4 SCH-i545, check out Eclipse ROM.
Built from ground up, the Eclipse ROM is compiled by the same developer who developed the Eclipse S4 ROM (which is an excellent ROM btw), bringing you the pureness and goodness of Android 4.3 in its truest form ever.
I know many of you have been asking me you want to update your phone to the latest stock firmware. Well, you can do that but on certain models like AT&T Galaxy S4, once you update your firmware to latest MF3, you can re-root it but you will lose the ability to flash CWM/TWRP recovery.
Also, using ODIN and stock firmware usually requires using a Windows computer and can be a long process sitting by your computer.
I know many of you have been asking me for a good Google Play Edition ROM for the Galaxy S4. Well, if you own an AT&T SGH-i337, T-Mobile SGH-M919, Canadian SGH-i337M, or GT-i9505 S4, check out Virgin Google Play Edition ROM.
Virgin Google Play Edition ROM is built off Google Play Edition sources with features like Google Wallet working out of the box (no fiddling required), stock AOSP browser added (so you can easily add Flash Player), and custom reboot menu including hot boot (for quick reboots). Also, wifi tether works out of box (except T-mobile).
For those of you who want root on your Samsung Galaxy S4 Active, here’s an easy way to do it.
Before we begin, this root method is for the latest firmware ending in UCUAMF3 (check this under Settings->About device). If you have a newer firmware, this root method may or may not work (I have no way to tell since I don’t have a time machine.) but should be safe to do.
For those of you bummed out because CM10.2 Android 4.3 isn’t available for your Sprint S4 SPH-L720, don’t be as NegaLite ROM is here to lift up your spirits!
UPDATE: There’s a new version, PLEASE CLICK HERE to see it instead of this!NegaLite ROM is an awesome blue-themed custom ROM with UI customization through Nottach/Wanam Xposed app that allows you to fully customize your status bar/battery/clock or even add screen-off torch easily.
For this week’s Galaxy S4 ROM of the week, check out CM10.2 ROM, Android 4.3 CyanogenMod ROM. This ROM is available for AT&T, T-Mobile, Canadian, Verizon, US Cellular, GT-i9505, GT-9500.
In case you don’t know, CyanogenMod ROM is an AOSP ROM (What is AOSP?) that’s usually the beast of them all as custom ROMs like ParanoidAndroid and AOKP are built on top of CyanogenMod ROM.
