For those of you who want to try the latest Android 8.1 Oreo w/ root on your Samsung Galaxy S4, you can do it simply by installing TWRP recovery and installing latest beta version of Lineage OS ROM 15.1, which is based on latest Android 8.1 Oreo. While Samsung has stopped updating stopped updating past Android 5.0.1 Lollipop, you will still be able to enjoy the latest Android 8.1 Oreo. Now, this is an AOSP ROM(What is AOSP?), meaning you won’t be able to get any TouchWiz apps (Samsung apps that depend on Samsung firmware).

For those of you looking to experience Android 6.0 Marshmallow with full root, I have good news for you. There’s a ROM by the JDC Team (Jflte DevConnection Team) that can be installed on all AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, Canadian, GT-i9505,GT-i9507, and GT-i9508 variants. This tutorial is for those of you with Loki’d unlocked bootloader on the AT&T SGH-i337 or Verizon SCH-i545, DO NOT FOLLOW THIS GUIDE IF YOU HAVE ANDROID 4.3 OR HIGHER ON AT&T OR VERIZON.
